A life saver!

I'm one of those students that have a real difficult time following along in class. I ended up getting a 3.5 in my torts II class, and I ended up just reading canned briefs, and then reading the corresponding section in crunchtime each week. It's great because it has an indepth explanation for all the terms and law that you're learning, and these awesome flow-charts that help show you how your essays will be broke down. Then come exam time, they have a shortened "attack outline" type section, plus exam tips, that tell you what you should REALLY know for your final. This was a life saver, and I've bought a crunch time or emanuel supplement for every class I've had since I was given this book, and I study the terms we're learning in class each week out of the emanuel book, instead of referring to my own notes - it's much much easier to comprehend and master the material. I recommend this series to everyone in law school!

Recommend - if it correlates with your class!

The Crunchtime books can be a great asset for exam prep. Each book includes flow charts (which can be very helpful and are likely unlike anything you have seen in class), summaries of each topics, exam tips for each product including what is most commonly tested and what to say about a topic if tested, multiple choice questions and answers, short answer questions and answers, and essay questions and answers. I would recommended using this during the last week prior to the exam. It reinforces what you know and gives you great practice in answering exam questions.
Although they have great information, they will not correlate with every professor's class. In my experience, the Torts Crunchtime was invaluable and likely made a huge difference in my grade (especially recommended if your Torts professor includes any type of multiple choice on the exam). The Civ Pro Crunchtime was helpful, especially if there was any confusion on a particular topic. Due SOLELY to the difference in my professor's teaching methods and the info in these books, the Contracts and Crim Law Crunchtime books were not helpful to me. The material differed too much from the books (everything was accurate, however, my professor's gave certain topics a lot of weight and they were barely glazed over in the book). The helpfulness of these books depend on how they correlate to your class. If they do, there is no better resource for exam prep!
Also, the only other study aid I purchased was the Examples and Explanations for each topic. They compliment the Crunchtime books well because they give you a more in depth, overall view of the topic, while Crunchtime focuses on last minute, helpful tips and answer practice. The E&E's were the same as these books for me, Civ Pro and Torts were great, Crim Law and Contracts did not add much to my study preparation.

A Lifesaver for 1L

This book was very helpful by describing the key points that are tested in law school. Torts is a huge subject and very easy to get lost in if you don't have somebody to help you find the right path. This book does that, there are flow charts that help make sense of how the rules fit together and good explanations of the key topics. The exam section is great for learning how to handle the exam questions so you get maximum credit. I used this book in conjunction with the Emanuel flash cards and they helped me to earn an A. Good luck!
